| We carry
a variety of window treatments from these fine manufacturers.
Below are guidelines on window treatment installation. For more
assistance, call one of our Window Treatment Specialists at
800-783-4586. Below is a sample method on how to install horizontal
blinds both from inside the casing installation and outside
the casing installation.

Inside the casing installation.

|
|
A minimum of 1" x 1" flat surface
is required for the mounting brackets. To determine the inside
measurements for the window:
- Measure the width (distance
across from one inside face to the other). Measure at three
different places, and use the narrowest dimension when ordering
(A dimension). It is critical to measure the top width on
the inside mount where the headrail will be mounted. The
factory will automatically deduct 1/2" from the inside measurement
for slat width to allow for out-of-square window casings.
- Measure the height (distance
from the top soffit down to the sill. If no sill, or an
overlap is desired, measure to the lowest point you want
the blind to reach (B or C dimension).
- Measure the sill height
(distance from the sill to the floor). This will ensure
that the operating controls are made to the proper length
(D dimension).

Outside the casing installation.

A minimum of 1" x 1" flat surface
is required for the mounting brackets. It is recommended that
the blinds overlap the window opening by at least 2" on each
side (total 4") to ensure privacy and to control sunlight.
To determine the inside measurements for the window:
- Measure the width (distance
across from one inside face to the other) taking into account
at least 2" overlap on each side (A dimension).
- Measure the height - distance
from the top (where the mounting brackets will be) to the
top of the sill. If no sill, or an overlap is desired, measure
to the lowest point you want the blind to reach (B or C
dimension).
- Measure the sill height
(distance from the sill to the floor). This will ensure
that the operating controls are made to the proper length
(D dimension).
